Why we should care about decentralized data storage

Last week I announced the launch of Cedalio, my new company. The first product we launched is a decentralized storage solution and I want to share why I think it matters.

About Culture

The culture of a company acts as an expression of its values. It determines the way employees interact, their actions towards the customer, and their attitude towards the job they are doing. It also defines clearly what the company values from an employee and therefore what it’s going to be rewarded and compensated for. For example, based on my personal values, I always tell people I work with that I am demanding. That the bar is high and I expect ownership end to end.

Web3 101: the “Next big thing”?

Web3 is a term that refers to the next generation of the internet, which will be built on blockchain technology. The web3 movement has been likened to Web2 in that it aims to decentralize information and bring power back into the hands of individuals. But while Web2 mainly changed how we interact with each other through social media and messaging platforms, Web3 could have profound implications for industries such as health care or finance - as well as businesses at large.

Leading in Conflict

In a startup, conflicts are common. There are always opposing forces that need to be resolved in order to take a new course of action. A startup is always short on resources and the goals are huge, emotion and reason are also in conflict every day. We want to do the best for the company but at the same time follow our instinct as founders. The very decision to start a new company is the first conflict we encounter. If we were to make a rational and logical decision, we would surely conclude that it is a bad idea to be an entrepreneur; however, following our intuition and our emotions, we decide to take the least reasonable path and do it no matter what.
